Pro tip: the key to being fashionable is dressing so that one small section of your body is very cold. But it can’t be something obvious like your hands or face. No, it must be a random 3-inch section of your mid calf. Voila. FASHUN.

And speaking of French, this impossibly soft, fancy sweatshirt is from the sustainable brand Amour Vert. The name is en français, but it’s a U.S. company, so overseas shipping costs (yay). This is the only thing I’ve bought from Amour Vert, but so far I’m impressed. And as you know, I have very high standards when it comes to fashun.

You might think I sought out a backdrop to match my fancy dress, but this fire red bush is literally right outside my front door. 98% of the year, it’s a big ugly thing that we should probably rip out or at least prune, but we are the world’s laziest home owners so we just let it sit there and do its big ugly bushy thing.

But for about 3 days days each fall, it’s gorgeous, and those 3 days are enough for me to convince myself I’m actually a landscaping expert.

Now about the outfit – I had a fancy event to go to, so like every other girl, I rented a cool dress from Rent the Runway. But seeing as I hate to look like every other girl, I went a little edgy with the ankle boots and leather jacket. If you feel like your formal outfit needs a little personality, here’s one way to do it. And if you feel like your yard needs some upkeep…don’t call me.
