I have good news and bad news.

Bad news first: Instagram disabled my account for unknown reasons so I can’t log in, can’t post my latest book reviews, can’t tell you all how cute your shoes/kids/pumpkins are (I’m sure they’re all adorable)…it’s like my whole account doesn’t exist. I’m trying to be patient and hopeful that this will all work out, but I’ve also been quietly freaking out and sending many frantic messages for the past 2 days. Send all your good social media vibes my way, please.

But now the good news: This makes me extra thankful to have this little space on the Internet that I control. And with all my extra time, I’ve finally finished putting together a guide to my favorite sustainable fashion destinations! I may update it from time to time, but it will always live up in that top menu bar. So take a look and drink the eco-friendly Kool-Aid.

And in more good news, it’s fall. My favorite season. I was particularly proud of this first-day-of-fall outfit (featuring a secondhand top, btw) and I’ve been spending many evenings cozied up with spooky books. Look me up on Goodreads…they haven’t kicked me out yet.

I Got New Rules

I’ve been wanting a new pair of faux leather pants for a couple years now, and every time I try on a pair of real pants (not leggings), they’re always not quite right. And with leather pants, if they’re not quite right, they’re absolutely horribly wrong.

Then I read a bunch of reviews of the Spanx faux leather leggings decided to consider breaking my usual “leggings do not equal pants” rule. I mean if leggings cost over $100 then they frigging better be as good as real pants. I must say…I’m impressed. They don’t look thin in the areas where they have to stretch more, and they manage to stay nice and flat in the front instead of doing unattractive things to the crotchal region like most regular leggings and even some ponte pants. They’re not incredibly warm, but warm enough for the 40s at least.

Have IĀ convinced you to buy your own pair?! If you do, my last piece of advice is on sizing. They’re Spanx so they’re supposed to be super snug and make you look a little slimmer. I wasn’t so worried about the shapewear aspect (I would rather not fall down or pull a muscle while trying to put them on), so I went for a size small instead of my usual XS.
