I’m usually not a fan of platform shoes, but for whatever reason I couldn’t get these out of my head once I saw them. I stalked them until they went on sale and then made them mine (they’re still on sale, btw). When I wore them yesterday, I thought of the scene in Clueless when Josh is teaching Cher to drive and he says “Hey, James Bond, in America we drive on the right side of the road,” and Cher says, “I am! You try driving in platforms!” I generally compare everything in life to a scene/line from Clueless, but today’s connection was particularly spot-on. I kind of think a 2016 Cher would wear this whole outfit, actually. Now all I need is the rotating closet (but my dressing room isn’t too shabby in the meantime).

In case you don’t live in the Midwest and don’t know anyone who does, we had a magical heat wave over the weekend. The best part (besides bare legs) was that everyone posted pics on social media and bragged about what they were doing outside on Saturday. Even though everyone they know was also outside and also knew exactly what the temperature was. Such is the oversharing society we live in! Not that I’m complaining, of course. If people weren’t obsessed with what knowing what everyone else is doing, there would be no place for personal style blogs, and then I wouldn’t get to share this cute outfit with you all. And that would just be sad, because look at how amazing these shoes are. Did I mention I got to wear them without tights because we had a weird February heat wave? OK, just wanted to make sure you knew.
