There’s a new tiki bar in town and I’ve already been twice this month. It is themed to the max, with fake thunderstorms and everything. You might be thinking, “why would you have a tiki bar in Indianapolis?” But if anyone deserves to have giant tropical drinks in January, it’s Midwesterners. Sure, Canada’s even colder, but they have their universal health care and mentally balanced leader to keep them warm.

So cheers to my fellow Sweater Soldiers holding it down in Indiana and beyond. This mai tai’s for you.

I wore this last week to school when I was not quite over the flu. At the time, the idea of standing in the cold for more than 1 minute sounded about as appealing as…you know…having the flu. So I didn’t take photos. But then later I realized it was a black-less outfit, so I recreated it to share with you for Black Out challenge week! You’re welcome.

This seems like a good time to point out the newest member of my wear-with-anything jewelry collection: this monogram necklace. I had never really considered myself a monogram-necklace-wearing kind of gal until oNecklace offered to send me one. Now I’m kind of loving it. They have a ton of different styles, and at first I thought a “modern” looking one would be more my taste, but in the end I went with the classic, fancy schmancy font because I like how, from far away, it just looks like a swirly little design. It’s like that font they use on diplomas that you can’t actually read but it makes your education look more elite.
