This outfit is actually from a couple weeks ago – the last day of my Bar review course. The day before, I had put absolutely no effort into my appearance and I was in a total funk all day. So the next day I wore this. I’ll be the first to admit I had absolutely no one to impress; all my fellow Bar-preppers were stressed and too worried about themselves to notice what I was wearing (I’m just assuming this based on the fact that I was stressed and didn’t notice what anyone else was wearing). But darn it if I didn’t feel a million times better about life.

However, now that we’re only a week out from exam time, please don’t ask me how I feel about life currently. K thanks.

A fine arts degree is useful for very few things: impressing your friends at museums, answering Jeopardy questions, and knowing all about the color wheel. Unlike the first two, that last one is actually useful on a regular basis. I love wearing complimentary colors because it’s way more fun than  just matching your colors or pairing a bright with a neutral.

In case you’re a total color wheel novice (maybe you majored in one of those practical subjects like philosophy), complimentary colors are sets of one primary [red/yellow/blue] and one secondary [green/violet/orange] color that are across from each other on the color wheel. So they’re sort of like opposites, which means they make each other look brighter.

I loved the pattern of this chevron scarf, so to make the blues really stand out I decided to wear it over an orange sweater. Thanks, college.
