Back to Black

I see other bloggers using the title “Back to Black” all the time, but never has it been as appropriate as this. On Saturday I celebrated the end of the Black Out challenge by piling on black leggings, a black dress, a black scarf, and a slightly black patterned hat. Ahhh, feels good to be back. What felt even better is that I took the whole day off from school work. I went shopping, went bowling (well, I watched, anyway), bought groceries, had breakfast for dinner, and watched all the TV I wanted. It was glorious.

Besides wearing black and relaxing, another thing I haven’t done in a (very long) while is play with effects on my photos. Generally I don’t do it because it takes away from showing how I look in “real life,” but what can I say? I was feeling cuh-razy this weekend. Plus, sometimes “real life” (a.k.a. gloom and rain all day) gets in the way of getting great photos photos anyway, so you might as well have fun with it.

Have a great week, everyone!

Nobody Asked You, Snow!

When I said I might have to wear this happy polka dot shirt again to make it through today, I wasn’t joking. It’s almost April, and Indianapolis got 9″ of snow. That is simply uncalled for.

Anyone else a “How I Met Your Mother” fan? If you’re not familiar, there’s a very minor recurring character named Patrice who works with Robin, one of the main characters. For whatever reason Robin gets really worked up and yells at Patrice every time she says something. If you want to see what I’m talking about watch this video. Anyway, I feel like this snowstorm is my Patrice. The snow’s all like, “Hey, I can still come out and play,” and I’m like, “IT’S SPRING! NOBODY ASKED YOU, PATRICE! I MEAN SNOW!”

On the bright side, I’m really in the holiday spirit now. Ho ho ho, Merry Christmas!
