Back to Black

I see other bloggers using the title “Back to Black” all the time, but never has it been as appropriate as this. On Saturday I celebrated the end of the Black Out challenge by piling on black leggings, a black dress, a black scarf, and a slightly black patterned hat. Ahhh, feels good to be back. What felt even better is that I took the whole day off from school work. I went shopping, went bowling (well, I watched, anyway), bought groceries, had breakfast for dinner, and watched all the TV I wanted. It was glorious.

Besides wearing black and relaxing, another thing I haven’t done in a (very long) while is play with effects on my photos. Generally I don’t do it because it takes away from showing how I look in “real life,” but what can I say? I was feeling cuh-razy this weekend. Plus, sometimes “real life” (a.k.a. gloom and rain all day) gets in the way of getting great photos photos anyway, so you might as well have fun with it.

Have a great week, everyone!

A Little Bit Boho

Remember a handful of years ago when “boho chic” was in? I definitely had a couple of embroidered peasant tops in my closet. (I’m sure that fashion phase amused people like my parents who were teenagers in the 60s. Kind of like they’re probably amused by how people magically become hippies when Coachella time rolls around. Speaking of Coachella, you have to watch this video. It’s hilarious.)

What was I talking about? Oh right. “Boho chic.” Well I don’t really miss my leather bracelet days, but with this denim jacket, fringe necklace, and embroidered wedges, I felt just the tiniest [read: acceptable] amount of boho chic. Emphasis on the chic. Deemphasis on the boho.
