Resurrected

When: March 2024 // Weather: not spring yet // Real life: office

I put these photos on Instagram per usual, then thought to myself: Damn. I LOVE this outfit. Like I really love it. This should go on the blog. That way, when all the social media platforms are outlawed or implode, I can still look back on this random day in March 2024 when I felt cool.

I bought these Anine Bing leather (real leather) pants secondhand on The RealReal. They weren’t exactly cheap, but according to my girl math calculations, they were an amazing deal compared to brand new. Turns out they were such a good deal because there was a big mark on one leg. I wasn’t about to let these gorgeous, buttery soft pants go to waste, so I took them to a professional leather cleaner and voila! Good as new. What a touching secondhand story, right?!

I loved this look so much, I recreated it the following week. I kept the belt, and swapped in different stripes and different boots. The weather is finally warming up around here, so I think we’re done with leather pants season, but expect to see these beauts lots more next fall and winter.

^^Please note the other red sweater photo shoot happening in the background. I think the kids call that meta.

Sigh. I’ve been dragging out the NYC recap posts as long as possible, but this is the last one. The vacation (and the reliving of the vacation) is over.

So this was Day 4 of our NYC Thanksgiving vacation. There’s a lot of pressure on a day that follows the day I see Hamilton on Broadway, but Day 4 did its best. It didn’t try to be better, it just tried to be great in its own special way. Good job, Day 4. You were great. Everything else on our to-do list was done, and you let us do whatever we wanted. We had a scrumptious brunch, post-brunch cookies (vacation calories don’t count), walked around Central Park, visited the Frick Collection, wandered in a few stores, and finished the day off with an amazing meal at Manzo. The gnocchi was a borderline religious experience.

The cherry on top of Day 4 was that I wore my favorite outfit of the trip! I’m resolving to wear more red because it makes me feel sassy and I think I look good in it. Plus it’s festive this time of year. I also felt pretty hip in my faux leather leggings and Chucks.
