Bad news, bears: if you’re hoping to buy everything I’m wearing and perfectly recreate this adorable dressed-up denim-on-denim look, you’re out of luck. These shoes are four years old. I will always know how old these babies are because I got them to wear to this special event in 2011 where I walked down an aisle at a church and said some vows (something I don’t do terribly often). The shirt and clutch are both Kate Spade Saturday, may she rest in peace. I actually got the shirt in what I assume was the first physical KS Saturday store in the Meatpacking District in NYC. It was shortly after the line came out and I was in the NJ/NY area for my BFF’s wedding (here I am standing in front of the store and doing other cool stuff like making my own custom lipstick). Ah, the memories. If you’re looking for bloggers who only wear brand new things that are for sale at this very moment, there are plenty of them out there. You’ll recognize them by their perfect blowouts and their acai bowls on Instagram. But I dry my own damn hair and eat cereal, and I wear old clothes sometimes. I hope you’ll forgive me because I know what you’re really here for is…wait, why do you like me again?

Oh my gosh, you guys, I thought I had lost these sunglasses during the move. There have been a couple times in the last month when I got dressed and thought, “man, those mint Madewell sunglasses would look totally awesome with this outfit.” But then I couldn’t find my mint Madewell sunglasses, so I only looked kinda awesome instead of totally awesome.

Well, last week I took a peek inside the one purse I haven’t used in the past month, and there they were. Waiting to get back in on the action. So I put together this kinda awesome outfit that then became totally awesome when I added the shades.

Back to awesome. Beautiful story, right?
