I’m really digging the weather we’ve had the past few days. It still feels like summer, but it’s been cooler and less humid. It’s like fall’s on the other side of a locked sliding glass door, waving and yelling “hey! let me in!” and I’m like “how about I open this just a crack?” I think it’s a good compromise for now. I’ve got some more summering to do (like a wine festival and an outdoor concert this weekend, and a beach vacation next month), but I also enjoy not sweating within 7 seconds of walking outside.

So here’s to Augustember, a name for the pre-fall season that I just made up. Wondering what to wear for Augustember? I personally recommend a long sleeve maxi dress with flat sandals. When actual fall comes around, keep the dress and stow the sandals!

I swear I wear things other than t-shirts and midi skirts. But the thing is…I mostly wear t-shirts and midi skirts. (See Exhibit A, Exhibit 2, Exhibit This, and Exhibit Oh Yeah Also This.) This particular midi skirt is back in stock in a couple teeny tiny sizes, so if you’re Twiggy-sized, rejoice!

I would go into more detail on this outfit, but I’m still reeling from the fact that my house was overtaken by giant spiders while we were out Sunday Funday-ing. By “overtaken,” I mean there were two spiders, but they really were giant. I’m not one of those girls who’s scared of spiders, so when I say they were giant, you have to believe me. It took some teamwork, but we’ve taken back control of our home. The spiders themselves might not make me squeamish, but killing them does. So my job was to keep everyone calm, and Kristin’s job was to find the appropriate tools to do the dirty work. That Women’s Health magazine finally made a real difference (let’s just say those spiders now have very flat abs). Ick.
