So I’m watching The Mindy Project as I write this, and even though I’m really nothing like Mindy personality-wise, her wardrobe in this show is my freaking dream. I love how her character dresses advenurously – lots of bright colors, metallics, and mixed patterns and textures. She’s always a little overdressed for her job but she owns it.

I bet Mindy would rock a floral pencil skirt, bedazzled sweatshirt, and bright blue blazer like nobody’s business. But then she would do or say something totally embarrassing, whereas I am the epitome of poise and never do anything awkward.

You guys, I felt super sassy in this outfit. I mean I’m always sassy on the inside, but I don’t always show it to the fullest on the outside. It was something about the mix of ultra girly things (floral dress and high ponytail) and ultra badass things (leather jacket and studded shoes). I’ve never been good at putting a label on my style, but when I think about it, the outfits that feel most “me” are ones that mix girliness and badassery. Who’s surprised by that? No one.
