Remember purses? Some people call them handbags? They were those things that would hold your crap when you used to do things outside your house every day.

These days I get to use a purse a few times a month. So when I had a hair appointment recently I used it as an excuse to bust out my new (to me) Rebecca Minkoff bag that I got secondhand on The RealReal. Not exactly a versatile, go-with-anything bag, but that’s why I’m so glad I’ve discovered the joy of secondhand shopping — I can still experiment and buy funkier stuff sometimes, but without adding new waste. And as long as I take care of what I have, if I get tired of it, I can put it back on the secondhand market for someone else to enjoy.

Have I inspired you try shopping secondhand this year? Please comment and let me know so I can feel like I accomplished something decent in 2020!

Stick a sanitized fork in me, because I have now perfected the fancy yet comfortable work from home outfit, and my work here is done. It’s basically leggings, a t-shirt, a cozy cardigan, and [almost] flat boots, but the luxe-looking materials and classic colors make me look like one of those rich stay-at-home moms that doesn’t actually take care of her children because she’s too busy going to Pilates and planning fundraisers. (Not actually a life goal of mine, but I’m not mad about the look.)
