I feel like this outfit post has a few unofficial sponsors that I should thank:

I would first like to thank the lovely season of fall for making me look way more fabulous than I really am. I wish I could have a background of blazing orange and yellow leaves every day.

I would also like to thank the handful of people who have bought my old stuff from the consignment store and provided me with enough funds to buy these fabulous suede ankle boots with nifty cutouts and contrasting straps.

Finally, I would like to thank everyone who gave me good feedback on this hat yesterday and provided me with the confidence to wear it again!

Oh, and the Academy. Of course.

It seems like every year, the first day of fall is still hot and the first day of spring is still cold. Makes it hard to get excited about the change of seasons. So you can imagine my excitement yesterday when I opened the door to my balcony to find sunshine and a chill in the air!

I said “screw you” to grocery shopping and homework (OK, fine, I did both those things later in the day) and went downtown to enjoy the beautiful first day of fall with my other half. And because the first day of fall actually felt like fall, I went “fall out!” (get it? like all out? but fall? lame? OK.) New sweater! New felt hat! New dark lipstick! All these things have been waiting anxiously for their debut.

They got pretty much the best debut possible. The Sunday Funday rundown: a Starbucks run (for a pumpkin spice latte, of course), a long walk along the canal where we actually stopped to look at some of the memorials, and a scrumptious cajun dinner during which we tried to decide who looked better in my hat. I didn’t win, but it’s my hat and my blog and I get to wear it. So there.

Happy fall!
