When I posted my mid-month remix roundup last week, I demanded someone invite me to brunch so I could wear this flowy floral skirt over the weekend. No one did, but I wore it anyway. Saturday was the sunniest, warmest day we’ve had here in a loooong time, so it was the perfect weather for more house hunting, followed by debriefing over drinks on a big ol’ patio. Patio time was nearly ruined when a super drunk 40-something single guy sat down next to us and wouldn’t stop telling us what a cute couple we were. Luckily, what started out as annoying just became entertaining, especially when we watched him move on to his next victims, one of whom looked like Kris Jenner. Unfortunately, Kris was NOT as amused as we were. The whole afternoon just got better and better, but something tells me drunk guy’s morning was not so pleasant!

I got this floral trench in 2008 (I know because it was from the Thakoon Target collection), and I’ve only worn it about once a year since then. Maybe less. Every time I get it out, I think: “Man, I hardly ever wear this. I should just get rid of it. I have too many coats anyway.” So then I decide I’ll take it out for one last spin before it goes to the consignment store. But then I realize how adorable it is, and I put it back in my closet to be rediscovered next year.

Yep, it happened again. Over the weekend it was sunny and lovely, but not quite warm enough to walk around outside without a jacket. Since I was already wearing stripes, and since I’m me, the elusive floral trench was a no-brainer. I fell in love with the print all over again, but I did realize the coat’s actually too big for me.

So what do you think – keep it another year, or let someone else enjoy the Comeback Coat?
