Living in Indiana, Chicago is a nice spot for a long weekend…as long as it’s between May and September, preferably. We used to go all the time when we couldn’t afford a “real” vacation, but it had been way too long since I spent any quality (read: non-work) time in the Windy City.

Last weekend we fixed that, and squeezed in as much Chicago fun as we could. We saw 3 shows: Six, Hamilton, and Cubs v. Reds. That last one was a little different…rather avant garde, really. I’m not sure I followed the plot through all 9 acts. But I highly recommend Six if you have a chance to see it before it closes in a week.

Fun fact about me: I have a freaky talent for finding four-leaf clovers. I used to find them all the time as a kid. Even if I wasn’t trying to find them – I could just be walking along, glance down, and oh! There’s one! This is not a joke. It happened multiple times.

As an adult, I haven’t really added much to my clover collection. Maybe because my eyes are farther from the ground now than they were when I was 10 (but only slightly). Or maybe because I live in a city so there’s less green in my environment, or (most likely) I’m just a boring grownup with too many responsibilities who’s forgotten how to feel fulfilled by doing things that aren’t “productive.”

Last weekend we took a walk around Broad Ripple Park and there were tons of clover patches, so I decided to get reacquainted with my inner child, and whaddayaknow, I’ve still got it! Found 2 lucky clovers in about 15 minutes of searching. Not gonna lie, it was pretty fun. 🙂

So consider this my way of encouraging you to do something pointless that brings you joy. Good luck.
