I wore this on Monday to take my Family Law exam. I have a lot of strong feelings about what went down in that exam, but I’m done venting about what’s in the past. Yep, I’m not going to complain about how there were multiple questions on topics we hadn’t covered in class and very few questions on the topics that I actually studied and slaved over flash cards for. I’m not even going to mention it.

Instead, I’ll just talk about why I bother getting dressed to take an exam. I know a lot of people roll out of bed in their pajamas, but that’s not for me. I just feel weird wearing sweats in public. When I wear real clothes I feel like a real person. An alert person who’s ready to take a 3-hour test. So that’s why.

Still, I err on the side of comfort and I dress in removable layers so I’m prepared for any temperature in the exam room. I love a good scarf, and I was inspired to try this fancy knot thanks to this tutorial from Kayley of Sidewalk Ready.

Three exams down; two to go! Keep your fingers crossed for me!

This no-name bag is similar in style to the Marc Jacobs Stam bag. I don’t remember exactly how much I paid for it, but I can guarantee it was a lot less than $1300. I got this bag at a small boutique in Bloomington a few years ago, but if you’re interested in something similar you might check out these: one / two  / three
