Behold, miracle of all Indiana miracles: The last day of summer was in the 90s, the first day of fall was in the 60s, and it’s been cool and sunny pretty much every day since. Fall is my favorite season (other than Awards Season) and it usually lasts about 3 days, sandwiched between a humid hellhole and a frozen tundra. Don’t worry, the planet is still warming and we’re all doomed, but right now it’s a good time to be alive, especially if you’re a fan of light layers.

You know what I loved about wearing this outfit, besides the fact that I was a comfortable temperature? I felt like it encapsulated all the aspects of my personal style that sometimes pull me in different directions: the tiger sweatshirt is a little edgy, the pearls are a little classic, the loafers are a little nerdy. Also, a good hair day never hurts.

Today I am proud to present…BA BADA DAAAA (that was a trumpet)…an all-secondhand outfit!

The Loeffler Randall bag and Gucci loafers (#sofancy) were both purchased through The RealReal, the lace pants were a Poshmark find, the top I snagged at a local consignment shop, and the sunglasses — well, they might have been new, but I got them on eBay, so I’m counting it.

The ring is secondhand too — it came from Kristin’s grandmother’s jewelry box. Knowing her, it could just as easily be an authentic vintage piece as it could be from a Kohl’s sale 3 years ago. Unfortunately she’s not around for me to ask. But, I decided that what makes it special is who owned it before, not how much it’s worth. (That rule just applies to the grandma ring, not the Gucci loafers. Those things better be real.)
