I love fall. I love navy. I love leopard print. I love new jackets. I love red lipstick. There were a lot of things I liked happening on this day. It also happened to be Saturday, and who doesn’t love Saturday? I did a little bit of “recon work” at the mall, meaning I went and tried some things on and made notes of what I want to get when there’s a good sale (and when I have a good income). Then I tried out a new restaurant in Broad Ripple called Hopcat. They have something called “crack fries,” and now that I’ve tried them let me just say: I had no idea crack was so delicious. I totally understand why people do it now. Let’s go ahead and add crack to the above list of things I love. Maybe I’ll add it to the “Interests” section of my résumé.

These over-the-knee boots were probably one of my favorite purchases of last fall/winter. Last weekend I knew I wanted to wear this sweatshirt (it was my last unworn item from my latest Le Tote shipment) and my new black hat for a trip to the zoo. Then I realized my trusty OTK boots would be the perfect way to complete the look.

The only problem? My boots – and the rest of my cold-weather clothes – were in “the warehouse.”

The warehouse is what we call the storage area in our apartment. I could try to paint a picture for you, but nothing can really prepare you for what you’ll find in the warehouse. Laundry detergent. Tool boxes. Wrapping paper. Musical instruments. Folding chairs. A wooden coat rack with cats on it (what?). These are all actual things I had to wade through to get to the plastic tubs that hold my out-of-season clothes. Not surprisingly, the boots were at the bottom of the third tub, but I found them!

In sum: my house might be messy, but at least I look awesome.
