How to Wear Team Spirit at the Office (a Sneak Peek)

March is basketball season at its best, and here in the great state of Indiana, people are a wee bit obsessed with the sport. This week I did a special feature for twentysomething Indy on how to wear your school colors in a business casual environment. Here’s a peek at one look I put together for my own alma mater. See the rest of the article here (even if you didn’t attend an Indiana college, you might find some inspiration!).

Thanks to all your comments on yesterday’s post, I learned that a lot of other workin’ girls wear pants to work on the regular, especially in the winter. I’m glad you all are showing your trousers some love, because lo and behold I am back to a dress today. What can I say? I’m a goddamn lady.

One thing I like about dresses and skirts is that they’re better for showing off a great shoe, which is exactly what I wanted to do for this outfit. I just got these Anne Klein cap-toe pumps after passing by them a few times at Macy’s. Some things are just meant to be together. Romeo and Juliet. Leslie and Ben from Parks and Rec. Me and these shoes. I think Shakespeare would cover the second two if he were alive today.

Thanks to the bright sun reflecting off the shoes, you can’t quite tell that they’re actually a really pale pink with rose gold toes and heels. Amazing, right? I’m sure I’ll wear them again soon and I’ll try to get some more true-to-life photos. Or you can just look at them here.
