Smells like Team Spirit

In case you didn’t already know, I am a proud graduate of Indiana University, the greatest school in the universe, located in Bloomington, the greatest college town in the universe. There are enough IU alums and fans in Indianapolis to make me feel at home, but there’s still something special about going back to visit my alma mater. I’m sure those of you who went to a great, though inferior, college feel the same way.

I went to Bloomington on Saturday to visit friends and watch [one of] the greatest college basketball team[s] kick some Gopher butt! If you’re a Minnesota fan, I hope this doesn’t affect our friendship.

We didn’t actually go to the game, just watched with other energetic fans at a bar. I decided to walk the line between my usual weekend style and showing some team spirit. Here’s how it turned out!

I hope you all had a great weekend, and if you haven’t seen it already, be sure to check out the giveaway that I just posted yesterday!

20121112-180906.jpgI really love the look of socks peeking out above knee-high boots, especially with bare legs and a skirt. But if we’re being practical (and we are for once), there really is a small temperature range where this combo is wearable. Too hot, and you have swamp calves. Too cold, and you get frost bite only on your knees, which I imagine being more awkward than just having straight up frost bite everywhere.

But lucky for me and my lucky knees, this past Saturday had a high in the upper 60s, and I was comfortable wearing this on my field trip to the apple orchard even as the sun went down. Success! And I was having a great hair day. DOUBLE SUCCESS!
