The only thing I did on Sunday when I wore this outfit was meet someone for coffee at Starbucks (hi, Rachael). She was apparently very impressed at how put-together I looked for a Sunday morning. Lest you all think I spent more than 15 minutes getting ready for coffee, let me set the record straight: this put-togetherness is all an illusion.

I got my hair done the day before, so that’s why it looks pretty cute – I hold curl well. And there’s something about wearing all black that comes across as chic no matter what. As for the shiny shoes, I just picked them because the tips of my toes were still sore from dancing in heels the night before, and with a pointy-toed flat, there’s no toe/shoe contact.

There you have it. Now you know all my secrets.

These boots are my new lifesaver. Or legsaver I guess. I’ve been wearing jeans A LOT recently just because it’s so cold that I can’t bear to expose my legs (even with tights) to the elements. But at a certain point I just get tired of jeans. And by “I get tired of jeans,” I mean “all my jeans are in the ginormous pile of laundry in the corner of my bedroom.” Then I realized that my over-the-knee boots give me an extra 4 inches or so of coverage compared to regular old knee-high boots. It makes a big difference, lemme tell you. Plus I wear tall socks for an extra layer. So that leaves just a couple inches of thigh out in the cold. I’m not a doctor but I’m thinking [even my] thighs have more insulation than the lower half of the leg…amiright, ladies?
