Have you seen those new H&M commercials that say “Summer Stars Now”? The obnoxious nitpicker in me wants to respond, “actually, the summer solstice occurs on June 21.” *pushes glasses up bridge of nose* But I guess there are other ways to measure the beginning of summer. If you’re a kid (or a teacher), summer starts at 3:30 on the last day of school. A lot of people consider Memorial Day the unofficial start of summer. Maybe summer starts on the first 80-degree day, or the first time you eat ice cream outside. The new rule is: there is no rule. Summer starts when you want it to start.
For me, I think summer started this week. It’s been near 80 for multiple days in a row, and I’ve recently added new floral prints and bright colors to my closet, including this super happy almost-red coral blouse from…guess where? H&M of course. 🙂
