There aren’t very many household chores I enjoy. Just ask the dust bunnies in my bathroom. They’ve known me a long time. But there’s one chore I love doing, and maybe it’s because I only have to do it twice a year. That chore is…my seasonal closet switch. Every spring I put away my sweaters and boots and unpack my shorts and sandals. It never fails that there are things I forgot I had and it’s like Christmas and my birthday all at once. But better, because I picked everything out myself and I know it fits. (Speaking of fitting, at the bottom of one of my out-of-season clothes tubs, I found the verrrrry fitted sequin skirt I wore to junior prom. It still fits!)
One of the things I pulled out of storage last week was this yellow polka dot skirt. It was probably the brightest, most cheerful thing I purchased last summer, so I decided it belonged with something equally bright like my hot pink bag. I look a little bit like a handful of Chiclets, but who doesn’t love Chiclets? Crazy people and diabetics, that’s who.
Does anyone else love unpacking out-of-season clothes? Does anyone not love Chiclets? Share in the comments, which I promise I read, I’m just too lazy to respond to them all.
