Believe it or not, this was a work outfit. Well, underneath all the cool stuff (the hat, scarf, and bag) was a work outfit. It was actually a pretty cute work outfit – I really like wearing a leather jacket like you might normally wear a blazer because it’s a little more badass. But I have to admit I was a little bummed when I took off all my outerwear and hung it on the hook in my office (as I lamented on Instagram). Luckily, my friends came to the rescue and invited me out for drinks after work! Friends that give you an excuse to show off your outfit are the best kind of friends.

In case it’s not clear by now, I’m kind of a shoe girl. Yes, I’m also kind of a dress girl and a bag girl and a jacket girl and a scarf girl, but stay on topic, please. Shoes.

Sometimes I find shoes that seem like they should be saved for a special occasion, but as someone who doesn’t have that many special occasions, I have 2 options. #1 I can ignore the pretty shoes and leave them to live out their days in a cardboard box (which would be terribly inconsiderate of me), or #2 I can buy the shoes and find a way to make them work for my everyday life. Being the shoe version of humanitarian that I am, I choose option #2. I like to pair “fancy” shoes with a business casual (emphasis on casual) outfit. The shoes bump the casual outfit up a notch, and the casual outfit takes the shoes down a notch. It all evens out and, most importantly, I get to rescue pretty shoes. I guess when people say that doing charity work makes them feel good, this is what they mean.
