Guess what? May 29th marks the 3-year anniversary of my very first blog post! In that first post (which I’m not going to help you find), I shared what I had worn the day before, which was Memorial Day. So today I’m sharing this year’s Memorial Day outfit. Ironically, 3 years ago I thought I was too old to show midriff. Apparently I’ve gotten younger over the past 3 years. OK, maybe just more daring.

People often ask me what made me want to start a blog. People also ask me what made me want to go back to school and become a lawyer. The answer to both is the same: a few years ago I was hypnotized and forced to embark on these insane ventures. If someone could figure out the trigger word to get me out of this hypnosis so I can go back to being someone with free time, that would be awesome.

In the meantime, I now order everyone to go have a drink and toast to 3 years of SRL! And if you want to get my blog a birthday present, just get it some new readers by sharing this post on social media 🙂

Earlier this month, I put away all of my boots, just like I do every spring. My feet get sweaty just thinking about being that enclosed in the warmer months. But I decided to carry these perforated peep-toe booties over to the new season. I figure they have built-in air conditioning. I still don’t know that I’ll wear them much more once we get into summer proper, but at least now I can say I wore them once this spring. For whatever reason, I want to wear boots/booties every damn day from September through March, and then the appeal disappears suddenly when the sun comes back out.

What are your thoughts on wearing boots in the spring? Bear the heat for the sake of fashion, or save them for fall? (I’m not going to change my mind based on your comments…starting a dialogue is just what the friendly bloggers do, so I figured I’d give it a shot.)
