I’ve become a big Kendra Scott jewelry fan recently. Thanks to Rocksbox*, I’ve been able to test drive a few pieces over the past couple months, most recently this fun tassel necklace. This is the perfect time of year to wear a tassel necklace: graduation season! I remember when I graduated law school last year, a lot of my classmates used the phrase “the tassel was worth the hassle.” Now that I’m a year out, I think I can confidently use that phrase and mean it. All that hard work was totally worth it, because not only do I have an amazing sense of accomplishment, I have a job where I do something that I actually studied and find really interesting. Trademark law sounds boring to a lot of people, but it’s my jam. The icing on the cake: I get to wear fun jewelry to the office. And isn’t that the American dream?

Congrats to all the new grads out there! Rock that tassel!

Last Friday I went to see the Indianapolis Symphony perform “Music of the Mad Men era” – aka lots of awesome 60s pop songs turned orchestral. Since there was a more laid back theme, I didn’t feel weird about just wearing my casual Friday work outfit straight from the office to dinner to the symphony. While I was sitting in the theater sipping my champagne and enjoying the music, I had the genius idea that there should be some kind of nightclub slash adults-only theme park where it’s essentially like you’ve just gone through a time machine to the 1960s. Everyone would have to look the part (in other words, I couldn’t wear this outfit, but I could probably wear this one), so there would be a big hair and wardrobe area at the entrance where you could get a makeover. Once you got in, there would be different stages set up with bands playing music from the era. Drinking and dancing, of course. And there obviously couldn’t be any cell phones or flat screen TVs. We would have to remember how to have fun without telling all our friends about it in real time.

Seriously, how cool would that be? If there are any investors out there reading this, drop me a line. Let’s talk. I’ll also need someone with hospitality management experience. I’ll take care of the legal part and the awesome outfits part. Let’s make this happen, people.
