Remember my October to-do list? On Sunday I crossed off task #1: picking a pumpkin! (I’m also well on my way to completing task #4, blowing my shopping budget.) When I say “picking” a pumpkin, I mean it in the “selecting” sense, not the actual picking off a vine sense. I live in a city, after all. But I’m pretty confident the pumpkin was grown not too far away because I got it at a place called Locally Grown Gardens, just a few blocks from my house.

I picked a white pumpkin for the first time this year, while Kristin went with the traditional orange. Here’s something I learned: white pumpkins are more dense than orange ones. I learned this when I went to pick up a relatively small white pumpkin and nearly toppled over. (Note to self: time to do some weight training.) Both our pumpkins are sitting out on the front porch looking all autumnal and stuff, kind of like this very autumnal outfit. But some squirrel or rabbit or something is eating Kristin’s pumpkin! Has this happened to anyone else before? Any tips on keeping small mammals away from pumpkins would be greatly appreciated. Add that to the to-do list, I guess.

I try to make every outfit my new favorite outfit. Some days I try harder than others. Some days I try hard and it turns out OK, but not great. Other days I don’t try that hard, but I end up with AMAZINGNESS like this right hurr. Yellow. Mixed textures and prints. Multiple bright colors. Something chambray-ish. A dress/jacket combo. Tasteful animal print. I mean, has there ever been a more “Sarah” outfit? You know, besides all the other totally Sarah outfits I’ve worn in my life?

As icing on the cake, I had a great hair day. I think my hair can tell when the rest of my look is on point so it steps up to the plate. (Shout out to the lack of humidity as well.)

Point is: this is one of those times I’m so happy I have this blog because I get to relive the fun of wearing these clothes, and the photos actually make me look as good as I felt. Definitely my new favorite outfit. 🙂
