What do you do when it feels like springtime but it’s still February? You wear a yellow dress with a turtleneck, of course. This turtleneck is actually perfect for layering. I have it in 2 colors, and I’ve layered them both under sleeveless dresses multiple times this winter. I have way too many cute dresses that I can’t bear to give up for 3-4 months. Jackets and cardigans work sometimes, but I’ve found that with flared dresses like this one, I end up looking like a walking rectangle if the outer layer hits below my waist (which it usually does). No offense to rectangles or anything; I just don’t want to be one.

I’m usually not a fan of platform shoes, but for whatever reason I couldn’t get these out of my head once I saw them. I stalked them until they went on sale and then made them mine (they’re still on sale, btw). When I wore them yesterday, I thought of the scene in Clueless when Josh is teaching Cher to drive and he says “Hey, James Bond, in America we drive on the right side of the road,” and Cher says, “I am! You try driving in platforms!” I generally compare everything in life to a scene/line from Clueless, but today’s connection was particularly spot-on. I kind of think a 2016 Cher would wear this whole outfit, actually. Now all I need is the rotating closet (but my dressing room isn’t too shabby in the meantime).
