A watch made of wood? Say whaaaaat?! Not something I would normally think to try, but I have to admit it’s pretty unique, not to mention beautifully made. Nicely done, JORD. A wood watch would make a great gift, and they make men’s watches too. Just sayin’.

Also, I’m pretty excited puffer vest season is here. I love puffer vests. I mean, I only wear mine like once a year, and they don’t seem to go with very many other things in my closet, but still. I love them. It’s like wearing a sleeping bag. Basically, this is me camping. But instead of being surrounded by trees, I’m wearing the tree on my wrist.

I’d say my “Frocktober” challenge is going pretty well so far, but last Friday I had to accept defeat. I really wanted to wear a pink floral dress I got a few weeks ago (seen here), but I couldn’t get it to work. I tried it on with the suede jacket I’m wearing here and the proportions just weren’t flattering. It made me look rectangular. I tried on a few other jackets and they weren’t quite right either. The dress has flutter sleeves that would look lumpy under a cardigan, and I think it would’ve looked silly with a layer underneath.

So I went back to square one with the jacket I planned on wearing, and built this outfit around it. I ended up really loving this look, so my defeat was followed by a swift comeback.

Knowing what outfits work on me is something I’ve gotten better at over the past couple years of blogging. I used to get an idea of an outfit I thought I should wear based on how it looked on someone else (or in my head). Then I would wear it and fidget with my clothes all day because subconsciously I knew something was off. Now, I try not to be overly critical of myself, but I also accept when a particular combination doesn’t turn out the way I imagined. PERSONAL GROWTH.
