Everything is Rent

Draper James gingham dress, gingham midi dress, Rent the Runway unlimited

When: a couple weeks ago // Weather: springy // Real life: work

A few weeks ago, I saw Rent the Runway was doing a promo discount on their unlimited subscription, and I gave it a shot. I’m a month in and I think I might be a convert. I get to sport all kinds of nice crap that I otherwise wouldn’t bother buying because the cost per wear would be way too high. Like this dress – it retails for $375 and as someone who doesn’t really repeat outfits, I wouldn’t get my money’s worth because there aren’t a lot of ways to wear it. And that fabulously fun Zac Posen bag you saw me wear a couple times last week? Also rented. In my opinion, it’s a little too “out there” to be worth investing in long term.

The RTR subscription isn’t super cheap either, but I’m learning some good tricks for making the most of that $159/month (like downloading the app and keeping a running list of “hearts” so you can quickly pick your next items and get them in the mail). In theory, an RTR Unlimited subscription should help me save money by shopping less, but…we’ll see if that actually happens. 😉

The RTR Unlimited promo is still going on, by the way. If you want to give it a try, click here.
