Sweater + boots season is in full swing over here. Sweater + boots can get boring if you don’t switch it up sometimes with an unexpected shape or color, and that’s how a chartreuse oversized knit came into my life.

This time of year can be brutal, but I’m focusing on the light at the end of the tunnel – and by “light” I mean wine, because in a few weeks we head to Napa! I may still be wearing sweater + boots there, but it’s likely to be merely chilly instead of frigid, and chilly isn’t bad when you’re gazing at vineyards and mountains, vino in hand. 🙂

Anyone been to the Napa Valley and have a favorite spot? Please share! We’ll also be in San Francisco for a couple days and would welcome food recommendations.

Stay toasty out there, friends.

  1. We were in Napa and Sonoma in July and these are a few of our Napa favorites:
Chimney Rock – bigger than some, but with a female winemaker
Jameson/Roots Run Deep – good wine, beautiful views
Pride Mountain Vineyards – excellent tour and good wine
Schramsburg – sparkling wine and a fun tour and tasting

  2. Late on this one but I have so, so many SF food recs. In what neighborhood will you be staying?

      1. My Twin Peaks knowledge is sketchy but Hayes Valley is fairly close — so many great boutiques, wine bars and restaurants in that neighborhood — I could recommend Riddler (sparkling wine bar), Cala (upscale Mexican), Nightbird (Californian – great tasting menu), Absinthe (French), Petit Crenn (also French obvs – love Dominique), Otoro Sushi, Rich Table (Californian – get the porcini doughnuts), Mr. Tipple’s Recording Studio (for jazz and cocktails). I also have strong opinions on restaurants in the Fillmore, SoMa / Embarcadero / Financial District, the Mission and Dogpatch if you find yourself in one of those neighborhoods!
