easy updo for thick medium length hair

I just want everyone to know that I came incredibly close to screaming and shaving my head (and possibly beating up a car with an umbrella) while trying to make my hair look remotely attractive. #sarahsreallife

This year I didn’t dress up for Halloween in the way people usually mean “dress up” for Halloween. But I sure did dress up. I went with Kristin and our friend Miranda to the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra’s big Halloween party on Saturday night, and the dress code was “masquerade chic.”

I so love parties where everyone makes an effort to look good! Part of me wishes I had lived back in the day when people always wore hats and dressed impeccably every time they left the house. And the other bigger part of me really enjoys being able to vote and own property.

Anyway, I was very impressed overall, although of course no one else looked as amazing as my two sexy dates did. I try to surround myself with intelligent and beautiful women as much as possible so I don’t lose my edge. And what do intelligent, beautiful women do for Halloween? They rent fancy gowns, drink champagne, dance to the Spice Girls, and then stuff their faces with appetizers at midnight. Obviously.
