Oh hey there. Just another typical office look. No big deal.

Well, in a way, it was an office look, but it was for my black-tie office holiday party this past Saturday. To those of you who voted and helped me pick out this dress: thank you! As you can see, it worked out pretty well. Left to my own devices, I’m not sure I would have picked this one because I would have been nervous about the low back or about the sequins being scratchy (they weren’t by the way). I probably would have gone with something that felt safer to me, but I would have missed out on this fabulousness! Thanks for saving me from such a tragedy. Every woman should wear a floor-length sequin gown at least once in her life, and now I have.

Since the dress was such a show stopper, I decided not to do anything really fancy with my hair or makeup and wore minimal jewelry. I didn’t need anyone’s votes to decide that, so I can take at least a little credit for this look, right?

  1. Gorgeous! I’m glad you went with that dress, it is beyond spectacular and you wear it like it was custom made for you!
(I mean, seriously, I rarely post on blogs and never have on yours..but had to come out of hiding to tell you how amazing you look)

  2. Wow… that is a stunning dress! I think I’d just twirl around in front of some lights for a while and sparkle!!!

  3. WOW! Great job, Sara! Technically, you did pick this dress since you made the list of contenders, right? See how I did that? ?

  4. So glad you mention the scratchy issue! I feel like every time I have worn a dress or top in full sequins I end up having a horrible rash under my arms where they rub on the sequins!! It keeps me from buying a ton of really cute outfits! Glad to know at least someone has figured out how to make one that is comfy!

    1. I’m sure it depends on the size/shape of each person’s shoulders, upper arms, and ribcage, but I didn’t have a problem. A swimmer might have a rough (literally) time with this dress though.
