Rain doesn’t usually bother me that much, but we’re having the gloomiest gloom that ever gloomed, and it’s really messing with me. I think I got spoiled with the perfect fall weather over the weekend. Plus, I still have some new stuff I bought this month (like those pink sunglasses and olive suede wedges) that I haven’t worn yet and the rain is ruining my very fashionable plans! Since I’m feeling like a Grumpy Gretel at the moment, I’m going to keep the chit chat short and just let you peruse the goodies I added to my wardrobe this month.
My Budget
- ~$253 (my usual starting budget of $150, plus $103 unspent last month)
- ~$410 (blog income)
- ~$57 (sold old clothes)
= $720
What I Spent
- ~$256 on a sequin sweatshirt, plaid puffer vest, gray hat, and gray dot shirt from J. Crew (orig. $361, purchased during 30% off promo)
- ~$220 on a faux fur scarf, pink sunglasses, and boucle top from Anthropologie (orig. $264, sunglasses were on sale)
- ~$44 on a plaid scarf and dark green bag from Target (orig. $55, used Cartwheel app deal)
- ~$74 on black ankle boots from DSW (retail price $159, regular DSW price $99, purchased during sale and used DSW Rewards certificate)
- ~$159 on a red dress, cream top, olive wedges, and pavé studs from Ann Taylor (orig. $346, purchased during promo, and used two rewards cards)
= $753 (total retail value $1185)
I went over budget just $33, which I pinky swear I will make up next month. Unless, you know, I have too much wine and Kate Spade has a flash sale. (Actually, KS is having a major (up to 75% off) sale right now! Hide the Sauvignon Blanc…)
Finally, as always, I want to disclose the things you’ve seen me wear that I didn’t have to pay for. Sweet deal, I know. And all it takes is hundreds of hours of hard work and creativity.
What I Received
- ~Another month of my Rocksbox subscription, which let me borrow the Gorjana earrings pictured above, among other goodies. You can use the code sarahsreallifexoxo at checkout to get your first month free!

hahahaha WHAT?! They don’t just hand out stuff to everyone? Weird 😉
I’m so tempted to pick up that J.Crew sweatshirt myself. The copper sequins are perfect on navy.

I love that green Target bag! I know the shape of it (though lovely!) would start to bug me, but the color is gorgeous (and I’m not even a green fan!).
Love these! That sequin sweateshirt is awesome. If you don’t mind me asking, what do you get your blog income from? I’m trying to find ways to earn more from my blog. Thanks!

This month it came from Shopstyle Collective affiliate links and a sponsored post. You can also look into Google Adsense. Best of luck!
Ha! Seriously. Online shopping with any amount of booze in me makes me think it’s all a good idea.
Every lady needs (faux) fur in her life, love that you got yourself some. I’m also really into the navy sweatshirt with the bronze sequins.
We’re dress twins! I picked up that BB Dakota dress too during the Shopbop sale and I looooove it. I actually just bought a pair of black fringe booties to wear with it.
Also, those deep olive wedges are everything.
