I’ve never really had much of a connection with children. Even when I was one, I felt like we didn’t have much in common. I mean, what am I supposed to talk about with a child? “Have you seen latest season of Orange is the New Black?” “Have you tried the latest microbrewery in town?” I’m pretty sure kids these days only discuss the movie Frozen, which I’ve never seen.

But now, I might have to talk to some little girls. Because they might have this same vest. Yes, folks, I got this from the kids’ section. That’s the one thing I have in common with children: we’re the same size. But that’s where the similarities end, because something tells me pre-teen girls aren’t wearing this vest with cap-toe pumps and a bag from Ann Taylor. Once they are, then we’ll talk, and I’ll buy them their first beer.

  1. I used to work at a designer kids clothing store in high school and would do the same thing. There was always that awkward moment when a kid walks in wearing the same thing you are. Ha! Also, clearly we are feeling very vesty right now. You, Kacie and I are all rocking an olive green vest this week.

  2. I don’t have anything in common with kids and I freeze up when someone asks me to hold a baby. I like that you paired the vest with a sleek dress.

  3. Oh my gosh! I saw that vest in Target, too, and wondered if I would fit into it. I almost bought a faux leopard fur vest from the Target kids’ section this past winter but it was slightly too tight across my back/shoulders. Bummer because otherwise it was perfect. Just like that vest is on you 🙂
