I know I’ve gone on record warning everyone about the dangers of going straight for the clearance rack, but that’s exactly what led to my buying this dress. Look, if I wrote the rule, I can break it. Sometimes you just have to buy a pretty dress for no reason. This dress is actually even prettier than it looks here – the sleeves are sheer and fluttery and princessy – but I wanted to wear it to work so I added my most serious looking lawyer jacket. But then I still felt too dressy, which is why I added these kind of punk rock boots. The moral of this story is: if I hadn’t made an impulse purchase from the clearance rack, I never could have lived out my dreams of being a royal rock star attorney. And that would have been a shame.

Oh Madewell dresses. Break the budget and my heart all at the same time. I wear the heck out of all the Madewell pieces I’ve brought home though, so I guess it evens out. I love how this dress looks on you. The sale price is definitely tempting.
