I really love the look of socks peeking out above knee-high boots, especially with bare legs and a skirt. But if we’re being practical (and we are for once), there really is a small temperature range where this combo is wearable. Too hot, and you have swamp calves. Too cold, and you get frost bite only on your knees, which I imagine being more awkward than just having straight up frost bite everywhere.
But lucky for me and my lucky knees, this past Saturday had a high in the upper 60s, and I was comfortable wearing this on my field trip to the apple orchard even as the sun went down. Success! And I was having a great hair day. DOUBLE SUCCESS!

I’ve seen a lot of bloggers wear tights, plus the knee socks with boots when it gets cold. No frost bitten knees!
Very cute. I love your boots.

This is definitely one of my favourite looks from you. I’m such a fan of the knee high boots/socks combo as well. And omg, those boots are amazing! I’m super jealous

Thanks, it’s one of my favorites too 🙂
Super cute. Loveee that skirt. Navy and yellow is one of my fav combos 🙂 I need to get some socks that would appropriate enough for peeking out of boots. My coastal Cali climate is always moderate enough that it would work without getting frost bite or “swamp calf” (lol).

Oh yes…you should definitely be taking advantage of your boots-and-bare-legs weather! Do it for me.
1. You look adorable. Love the socks and boots!
2. To answer your question about the J.Crew factory blouse – it’s wonderful! Not cheapy feeling at all! Go get it!

Sarah I LOVE this outfit; you look amazing!
Of my last 3 posts, 2 of them have had a strong mustard yellow component as well. Can’t blame you! Yellow is awesome! And I love how you paired it with navy and brown boots.
