Big news: I have chosen my Halloween costume!  If you haven’t watched network TV in the last 5 seconds, you might not know what I’m talking about but…I’m going to be Chanel Oberlin from Scream Queens! (pause for dramatic effect)

It’s going to be great, especially because I’ll get to be mean to people all night and I can just say I’m in character. Which will be true, of course. I’m normally a total delight at parties. Last weekend I started shopping and found most of the pieces I need for my costume (pink cropped tee, iron-on letters, faux fur, oversized sunglasses). I was looking for a tweed skirt but I didn’t find one. Instead I found this tweed top, which I did not need for my costume, but which I did need for myself because it’s perfect and amazing. Actually, it does kind of look like something Chanel Oberlin would wear. And it just so happens it also looks like something I would (and did) wear. Let’s just call it method acting in preparation for the 31st. If I roll my eyes or make any other bitchy faces at you in the next 15 days, assume that’s method acting as well. I’m really a delight.

  1. What a great top! And yes – it does look like something Chanel would wear – and I’m totally excited to see your Hallowe’en costume now – I love Scream Queens! Just promise that you’ll eat real food and not cotton balls with sauce, okay?
    Love that bag too!

  2. I’m surprised you’d have to buy anything to be Chanel for Halloween. Your closet seems to have plenty of Chanel style options, even if not displayed in a two-story circular closet like her own. Can’t wait to see the final outfit!
