A couple months ago we started watching The West Wing on Netflix. I know I’m a little late to the game, but…did you guys know this show is really good?! When it originally premiered I was just a little too young to be interested in politics, so I thought it seemed boring and never got in to it. Fast forward a few elections and I’m singing a different tune. And for a bleeding heart liberal like myself, this is the perfect time to enter the world of the WW. When I get tired of real-world news, I just start the next episode and I’m transported to the land of President Bartlett, where politicians are intelligent, well-spoken, and care about doing the right thing. They call this show a drama, but fantasy might be a more appropriate category, don’t you think? 😉

The moment everyone’s been waiting for is here: the blog debut of my fancy schmancy bag. If you didn’t read every single damn word of my Paris recaps, perhaps you didn’t hear about the day I spent a chunk of my hard-earned (and long-saved) dollars on a handbag at Saint Laurent (you can catch up here). The style of bag I picked is called the Collège, which is ironic because in college, I never could have bought a bag like this unless I wanted to max out a credit card. It took me a whole *cough* eleven *cough* years after graduation to get to the point where I could even think about making this kind of purchase, and even now, it’s still a big deal. Needless to say, this lifelong lover of fashion was living her best life going to Paris and coming home with the most special of souvenirs!

In case there are any younger ladies reading this, I feel like I should be a good role model and make something clear: Your style, your success, and your worth as a person are not measured by your ability to afford a designer bag. I know I put shopping links at the end of all my posts, but you do not need to have what I have. Hopefully, you’re all here because you like dry humor and ideas for fun things to wear, and not because you want to be exactly like me. That said, I’m quite happy with my carefully-made purchasing decision because for me personally it felt like a very “now I’ve made it” moment. I hope everyone can have that kind of moment, no matter what form it might take.
