Wardrobe Workhorse: Polka Dot Jeans

I was out at dinner the other night and I noticed the waitress was wearing these adorable polka dot jeans. Then I realized the reason I liked them was because I have the same ones (from Target!). In a stroke of genius (which I have hourly), I thought they would make a great next installment of Wardrobe Workhorse!

On your typical list of must-haves, you’d probably find “a pair of great fitting jeans” or “dark wash trouser jeans” or something like that. Poppycock. What good are jeans without polka dots?

Mine have come in handy for some fun print mixing (as in looks 1 and 2), denim on denim (look 3), and just to add some fun to your otherwise average jeans-tank-cardigan outfit (looks 4 and 5).

You guys already have polka dot jeans, right? If not, we can still be friends, but see below for some shopping links, all under $100. You’ll thank me later.

I hope I’m not the only one who took advantage of Free Museum Day on Saturday! I’m already a big fan of museums, but I’m an equally big fan of free things, so it was pretty much an ideal situation for a poor nerd like me.

There were several museums in my area participating, and we picked the Indiana History Center and Rhythm Discovery Center. The first one is pretty self-explanatory, but the second one is an interactive museum of percussion instruments. Pretty cool, right? You can see some photos from Saturday on my Instagram feed.

After a fun-filled day of learning, we walked over to the state house to get these photos of my outfit. In case you weren’t aware, it’s ankle boot season! And I’m well on my way to opening my own boot museum. (OK, that was a joke but how awesome would that be?!)
