Starbucks has two talents. The #2 talent is making coffee, and #1 is getting people to buy more coffee. My life is forever improved by the mobile order option, and I totally fall for the whole “get bonus stars for making more purchases” stuff. The latest offer peer pressured me into getting 3 iced lattes in 5 days. Well twist my arm. This was latte number 2, which I used as an excuse to get out of the office and enjoy the afternoon sunshine. And in the spirit of peer pressure, I bought Kristin a venti iced tea as a bribe to meet me for photos. So really, I say we call it a tax write-off. 🙂

P.S. I hope you all like navy, because I seem to be wearing a lot of it these days.

An American in Paris

When: Sunday before last // Weather: 60s // Real life: seeing An American in Paris with live orchestra (!!)

In another reality, I was born a few decades earlier, I married Gene Kelly, and An American in Paris was our real life, not just a movie. Not that I’m complaining about my actual real life. S’wonderful, but it’s a distant second to the waltzing along the Seine version. (Just kidding. Sort of.)

Luckily, my real and alternate lives collided earlier this month when I got to see An American in Paris on a big screen, accompanied by live orchestra. I don’t know how many dozens of times I’ve seen that movie, but this was definitely the best experience yet!

Naturally, I wanted to dress the part, so I wore an outfit from my alternate 50s Parisian closet, which, coincidentally, is quite similar to my regular contemporary American closet.

A million thanks to my real life spouse who paid to take me on this lovely date to drool over my first love! 🙂
