Do you know why this was the perfect Super Bowl outfit? Because I wore it to a Super Bowl party and had a decent time. A decent time is pretty much as good as it gets with me and football. If football ceased to exist tomorrow it would be A-OK by me. Yeah, you heard me. I live in Indianapolis and I could not care less about the Colts. The way Parisians feel about the Eiffel Tower is the way I feel about Lucas Oil Stadium. It’s an eyesore in my city and a complete waste of space. Lame.

But I do like snacks, so I’ll go to a Super Bowl party if it’s with people I like and there’s guacamole. And yes, I am absolutely one of those girls who made completely unoriginal jokes about rooting for Lady Gaga. When I try to root for an actual team it goes something like: “Go sports! Score the points! Run with the ball to the thing! ETCETERA!!!”

With all the ridonculously cold weather we had the first half of January (before it turned 50 degrees and rainy for a week… #onlyinIndiana), I had to get creative with layering. I really liked how this came out, so I re-created it and took photos when it was dry and above freezing for about 10 minutes over the weekend.

Without the belt, this is straight up old bag lady feeding pigeons in the park. (My purse is filled with tuppins.) But it’s amazing what a waist and a little leopard can do. My bottom half stayed cozy thanks to fleece tights, plus black socks hiding under my boots.
