Last Thursday this skirt I ordered from Loft came in, just in time for me to wear it to work Friday for Go Red Day. I don’t generally make a point to “celebrate” Go Red Day, but the timing was just too good. Once I had the skirt, the rest of this outfit fell together pretty quickly, and I just loved it. Funny enough, the day I wore this outfit was the same day I vented on the blog about how I’m proud of not being perfect. Not gonna lie, I felt pretty much perfect in this and I didn’t hate the feeling.

Speaking of last Friday’s post, you guys are all WAY TOO NICE to me. Seriously, you’re the best. From now on when I’m feeling down, I’m just going to tell you that someone said something mean about me and then let you pump my ego back up. I feel like I should do a quick followup to my “Not Perfect” post though, because I’m afraid I gave off the impression that “Regina” was being horrible and rude, and that’s really not the case. The context of her comment was that she LIKES my blog and was recommending it to other people. It’s just that I’m human and it’s hard to ignore the criticism even if it’s sandwiched between two compliments. So there’s no reason to beat up on Regina. She brought traffic to my blog and gave me something to write about.

OK, so back to today’s prompt, which is: how perfect is this outfit?!

Who’s ready for a new “Pin to Real Life” post?! I know I am. If you’re new to this concept, it’s where I take inspiration from the outfit of one of my favorite bloggers and recreate it to fit real life. This is the first time I’ve featured Mara of M Loves M in a P2RL, but in reality I’ve copied several outfits of hers. Now she’s finally getting proper credit.

It was probably her pretty pastel coat that caught my eye, but then her black and white dress reminded me of my favorite wrap dress, and then I got to thinking that it might be a little cool and unexpected to wear such a classic dress with a sorta edgy ankle boot. (Sarah: making lawyer wear edgy since last October.)

Mara’s outfit was already pretty “real” and not too “bloggery” (because that’s a word), but she doesn’t live in the Midwest, so I had to add an extra layer. Now all I have to do is grow a few inches, be drop dead gorgeous, and get a better camera. No problem.
