Fun fact: I bought this hat on a whim while at Target getting stuff for my trip. Another fun fact: I took it to New York and wore it for 10 minutes before a pigeon pooped on my head. I guess it’s better than poop in my hair?

Anyway, Day 2 in NYC was a big one! We started the day at the 9/11 Museum. Despite the fact the flow of the main exhibit is terrible, and despite the fact the subject matter is depressing as hell, it is still worth a visit. In 2001, I was too busy being an angry teenager to really process and care about everything that happened. This time around, I had a lot more appreciation for what so many people went through that day. That’s about as close as this heartless fembot comes to empathy. 😉

To balance out the somber start to the day, we partook in the great American past time of Black Friday shopping. In SoHo. Go big or go home, right? Surprisingly, I didn’t go too crazy. My favorite purchase was a pair of tassel earrings from Club Monaco.

But wait! I saved the best for last. The day ended with Waitress the Musical (thanks to my MIL for the tickets)! It. Was. Amazing. I usually prefer a dance-heavy musical and this one was pretty minimal on movement, but it was funny and sweet and happy and sad and Jessie Mueller melted my face off and it smelled like pie (seriously). And…AND…after the show we met Headmaster Charleston from Gilmore Girls!!!

Told you it was a big day. Totally forgot about my poop hat by the end.

November in a Nutshell

So, it’s like…pretty much winter now I think. This was a work outfit from last week, and it was so cold in my office I had to use the blanket scarf as an actual blanket. Next step: electric blanket scarf.

NY&Co sunglasses

New sunglasses just in time for me to not see the sun for 5 months. Only $15 though!

I spent a lot of time in theaters this month, starting when I saw my friends perform in Young Frankenstein (I have very talented friends).

…And then those same friends came to see me on stage, performing in a modern dance showcase. These were opening night flowers from my choreographer.

Sigh. This was my election day outfit. I was so proud of my democrat blue. I’m finally at a point I can look at it again.

Kendra Scott bracelet, Popsugar Must Have box

Check out the cute Kendra Scott bracelet that came in my Must Have Box (c/o Popsugar) this month! I’ve already worn it multiple times (I’m a big fan because it’s adjustable). It’s been fun getting a box of surprises every month. The Must Have Box would make a great gift for a sister or close friend (and by “close friend” I mean yourself)  – you can get $5 off your first box with the code SHOP5!
