After Monday’s somewhat daring ensemble, I kept things simple and classic for Tuesday. When I was a kid, I remember thinking that high-waisted pants were for nerdy middle-aged women. But that’s probably because my middle school librarian always wore these hideous floral pants with an elastic waist up so high that her boobs literally hung over the top.

Now that I’m older and wiser (and nerdier), I realize that as long as you’re not too short-waisted and you keep your pants under your belly button, high-waisted pants actually make your legs look longer and your waist look smaller. From what I’ve learned from What Not to Wear, these are good things.

P.S. For those who don’t get the reference, the title of this post is from the movie version of Confessions of a Shopaholic. Shortly after the movie came out, I found this scarf and couldn’t resist, but unlike the girl in the movie, I didn’t have to max out 3 credit cards to get it (not because I’m rich, but because this scarf was under $20).
