My coworker told me I was the only person she knew who could wear this outfit and not look like her grandma.

Compliment: Accepted.

I guess I must have pulled off looking young and fun in this, because I wore it to a networking event after work and multiple men introduced themselves to me. But that could also have been because I forgot to put my wedding ring back on after my shower that morning. So single ladies, take note: Dudes like women who dress like grandmas, apparently. Not sure if that’s cute or creepy, but try it out this weekend and let me know how it goes.

It’s All Over Now, Baby Blue

I wanted to come up with a title for this post incorporating “baby blue,” and this Dylan song is the first thing that came to mind. How appropriate. In case you live under a rock, Bob Dylan recently won the Nobel Prize for literature. It’s well deserved if you ask me. I’ve been a fan of his work since I was a newborn and the only thing that would get me to sleep was when my dad played “Desolation Row.” (I wanted that to be our father-daughter dance song, but it seemed a little depressing for a wedding, so I went with “If Not For You” instead.)

In case you’ve never paid attention to Bob Dylan’s lyrics, here’s proof of the genius:

Leave your stepping stones behind, something calls for you
Forget the dead you’ve left, they will not follow you
The vagabond who’s rapping at your door
Is standing in the clothes that you once wore
Strike another match, go start anew
And it’s all over now, Baby Blue

Just for a fun comparison, here’s an example of lyrics from a current popular song:

Work, work, work, work, work, work
He say me have to work, work, work, work, work, work
He see me do me dirt, dirt, dirt, dirt, dirt, dirt
So me put in work, work, work, work, work, work

Yeeeaaaaah.
