At this point, my shopaholic tendencies are no secret. But there are a few special times when I really let loose: (1) on city vacations (I bought this dress, these sunglasses, and lots of other goodies in Toronto this summer), and (2) during the change-of-season months, March and September. Basically, whenever I’m surrounded by tall building or Vogue weighs more than 10 pounds, I buy all of the things.

I just get so excited about new things – new places, new seasons, new shoes… This month, I’ve already purchased some velvet pieces from J.Crew, a sweater or two from Loft, and I took advantage of the Shopbop* sale that just started and ordered a plaid shirt and suede ankle boots for 20% off! The sale goes through Friday, and you can find all the details here.

Last week I told you about Part 1 of the anniversary weekend road trip to Bloomington, and here’s Part 2! Sunday was our actual anniversary, so rather than a fancy romantic dinner, we had a lovely hipster brunch. I’d heard good things about Feast from multiple people, and it didn’t disappoint. The avocado toast rocked my world, and that’s saying something, because I eat a lot of avocado toast. Considering my busy drinking schedule the day before, I decided to opt out of the mimosa, but the coffee was fantastic.

The morning was super gloomy, but after we ate, we went to walk around campus and…the sun came out for us! That’s the magic of IU. I think we wandered more than 3 miles just enjoying the day, visiting our old favorite spots, and looking at what’s changed since we were students. It doesn’t seem like it’s been that long, but a whole decade has passed since we graduated. Back in my day (imagine I’m saying that with no teeth, glass of prune juice in hand), we couldn’t Uber back to our dorms, and we used AOL instant messenger instead of Snapchat.

Sigh. When did I get so old? But at least I dress better now.
