With all the ridonculously cold weather we had the first half of January (before it turned 50 degrees and rainy for a week… #onlyinIndiana), I had to get creative with layering. I really liked how this came out, so I re-created it and took photos when it was dry and above freezing for about 10 minutes over the weekend.

Without the belt, this is straight up old bag lady feeding pigeons in the park. (My purse is filled with tuppins.) But it’s amazing what a waist and a little leopard can do. My bottom half stayed cozy thanks to fleece tights, plus black socks hiding under my boots.

There are lots of faux things I like. Faux leather. Faux fur. Faux sausage patties (those Morningstar Farms ones are delish). Now I can add faux layers to the list. This shirt and sweater, you guys…IT’S ALL ONE TOP. It’s not that I’m incapable of putting a sweater over a shirt myself, but it’s not easy. The shirt gets bunched up, and if the sweater sleeves get twisted? Oh man, it’s all over. Might as well start from the beginning.

On top of all that, if the sweater’s not thick enough, you can see the buttons of the shirt underneath. Awkward.  This top is about a million times easier than all that. And the best part is that it comes in a bunch of colors – even a couple maternity versions if that’s your scene! You can find them all in the handy widget below. I’m thinking about grabbing another myself.
