I don’t know about you guys, but I’ve seen a buttload of “festival style” features on blogs and on the interwebs in general recently. Spring time is Coachella fever time, apparently. As of last year, Indianapolis does have a music festival, but it’s in the fall, and it’s probably nothing like Coachella.

So when H&M asked me to style a “festival look” to support their H&M Loves Music campaign, I decided to put my own real-life spin on it. A spin that doesn’t involve frolicking around the desert with a bunch of millennials who are inexplicably dressed like they’re at Woodstock.

My version of a fun springtime excursion with sweet tunes? Having a picnic date on the grounds of the Indianapolis Museum of Art (with sangria, of course), with music playing from an iPhone. It was a pretty great weekend study break, and more importantly, a good excuse to wear a breezy dress and a cute hat.

I went to see The Lion King last week! It’s my favorite Disney movie, but I had never seen the musical. If the tour is coming to a city near you, I recommend it. The music is excellent, but the real treats are for your eyes: the costumes, props, and choreography are beautiful.

Oh, and this is what I wore.
