I have had mad plaid on the brain lately, you guys. One night I literally dreamt about it. Granted, it was the night after I had a muscle spasm and I was hopped up on pain killers, but still…I swear I was thinking about plaid before then.

I got it in my head at the beginning of the season that I wanted to find the perfect Christmassy green plaid flannel shirt. Ideally, I wanted the something similar to the green plaid skirt I wore earlier this week. I thought it would be easy to find, but it wasn’t. Unlike my usual shopping strategy of “THIS IS PRETTY I WILL BUY THIS NOW,” I actually did a lot of research and comparison of all my options. I’m glad I finally settled on this one, because I LOVE it. It’s thick and sturdy-feeling, but not stiff. And it’s definitely the most unique plaid I saw – I like how the vertical sections are faded and the horizontal ones aren’t.

Plus, I feel like a Christmas present in it. So don’t be surprised if you see it a couple more times this month.

You could say these photos are dark and grainy, but I like to think they’re lit gently by the twinkling Christmas tree and covered in an aura of holiday cheer. I went to a Christmas party on Saturday and I’ve been dying to share my festive look. You might have noticed a few skipped days recently, and a lot of very casual outfits. Needless to say, this clotheshorse jumped on the chance to dress up.

You’ve seen this dress before in a more casual look, but I think it’s pulling off this whole fancy thing pretty well. Personally, I don’t think a dress has to be tight or showy to be a little bit sexy. The bold tights and great heels draw attention to my legs (which are like 2 feet long but I work with what I got), and with some great waves and a little sassy makeup…not gonna lie, I felt pretty fabulous. Shout out to my friend Lauren and her roommate for throwing a fun party!

Has anyone else been to a holiday party yet? If you blog, leave me a link in the comments – I’d love to see what you wore!
